Following him to his lands, Kaisa feigns her own kidnapping to gain time to plot her escape from all the dragons for good.
In Ozias’s realm, Kaisa learns that the stories are true: that those who enter are cursed to turn into mindless dragons at sundown, left with only the desire to kill. As Kaisa morphs nightly into the thing she’s been raised to loathe, her freedom is contingent upon one thing: help Ozias bring down ZHORIC, the steely dragon king of the sky kingdom—the very man she’s begun seeing in her nightly visions while in her beastly form—to break the curse affecting the Rogues.
As Kaisa grows familiar with her dragon body, closer to Ozias, and curious with Zhoric’s motivations, she discovers the truth about herself, her people’s hidden past, and that there’s more to Zhoric than she ever wanted to know. Bringing down the dragon king was never going to be easy—but now she doesn’t know if doing so is possible while protecting her heart.
